Old Rivals Go Down to the Wire

CHARLOTTE - Kadri-Ann Lass' 3-pointer from the right side with 1.7 seconds remaining was off as Charlotte came away with a 75-72 victory in the season opener on Friday evening. Chassidy Omogrosso led all scorers with 20 points. Amanda Kalin added 11 points in her Duquesne debut.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Charlotte overcame a 15 point 3rd quarter deficit and outscored Duquesne 25-12 in the 4th quarter
  • Julijana Vojinovic (12) and Conor Richardson (11) also recorded double-figures
  • Vojinovic had a game-high seven assists and a team-high eight rebounds
  • Eniko Kuttor returned to the lineup and scored eight points after redshirting last season
  • Nyilah Jamison-Myers led the 49ers with 18 points
