May 21, 2015 PITTSBURGH - The Duquesne men's outdoor track program was recognized Wednesday by the NCAA for ranking in the top 10 percent of its sport in Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores. Public recognition is based on scores compiled through the 2013-14 academic year.
Men's outdoor track is the 11th squad to be recognized by the NCAA since the public recognition program began 10 years ago (see list below).
The NCAA will release the full APR report on May 27, which will include the multi-year rates for all Division I teams.
Each year, the NCAA honors selected Division I teams by publicly recognizing their latest multi-year NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR). This announcement is part of the overall Division I academic reform effort and is intended to highlight teams that demonstrate a commitment to academic progress and retention of student-athletes by achieving the top APRs within their respective sports. Specifically, these teams posted multi-year APRs in the top 10 percent of all squads in each sport.
