Duquesne head coach Dan Burt can be connected to Slippery Rock head coach Bobby McGraw based on the "six degrees of separation". Before accepting the head coaching position at Duquesne on April 27, 2013, he spent two weeks as the top assistant at the University of Pittsburgh. He worked with thenassistant athletic director Stacey Brann-Hotchkiss, who was formerly the sports information director for women's basketball at Rutgers for head coach C. Vivian Stringer. In her first year at the University of Iowa, Stringer coached current Saint Louis coach Lisa Stone. Former Slippery Rock head coach Tanya Longo was an assistant with Stone at Wisconsin and Drake.
