Jody Fetterhoff Named Head Women's Bowling Coach

Oct. 12, 2015

PITTSBURGH - Jody Fetterhoff, former head men's and women's bowling coach at Adrian College, has been named head coach of Duquesne's recently-added women's bowling program.

The Lancaster, Pa. native brings 10 years of collegiate bowling coaching experience to the Bluff.

"We are excited to welcome Jody to Duquesne," said DU senior associate athletic director Phil Racicot, who headed the coaching search. "Her experience as a coach and former student-athlete will be an invaluable asset to establishing our program. Jody has demonstrated the ability to recruit and coach top-notch student-athletes and combines that with a strong background in all facets of the sport. Women's bowling is a still-emerging sport across the NCAA, and we believe that Jody can help put our program on the road to success both regionally and nationally."

Fetterhoff, who led Adrian to a third place finish at the past two Collegiate Club Championships, had 25 student-athletes named academic all-American by the National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association in her five seasons at Adrian.

She has made four trips to Nationals - twice as a bowler and twice as a coach.

"I want to thank the search committee and the University for giving me this incredible opportunity," said Fetterhoff. "I'm excited to return to my home state and look forward to building a competitive women's bowling program at Duquesne University. There are a number of very talented bowlers throughout Pennsylvania and the surrounding states. I look forward to sharing with them the tremendous opportunity we have here as we assemble the program's first team."

Under Fetterhoff's leadership, the Adrian bowling program grew to one of the most competitive in the region. In addition to the 25 academic all-Americans, Fetterhoff recruited and coached 20 bowlers who went on to earn all-tournament team honors.

Fetterhoff was the assistant coach at Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky in 2009-10, prior to making the move to Adrian. She was the head coach at her alma mater, Shippensburg University, from 2005-08.

An NCBCA honorable mention all-American as well as an academic all-American at Shippensburg, Fetterhoff helped lead her team to an American Heartland Intercollegiate Bowling Conference Championship in 2006-07. She was named conference co-MVP that same season.

Fetterhoff completed her bachelor's degree in criminal justice at Shippensburg in 2006 and received her secondary education certification in history/social sciences - also from Shippensburg - in 2008.

Duquesne made women's bowling the school's 17th varsity sport on July 1. The bowling program, which is being established in 2015-16, will begin competition in 2016-17.
