Duquesne's swimming team opened its busy weekend in New York with a 134-71 victory at Niagara Friday afternoon.

After taking in Niagara Falls in the early afternoon, the Dukes hit the water and won eight of the 11 races, including both relays. Line Lovberg won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:58.07 and took first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:08.97.

Meghan Smith finished first in the 200 butterfly in 2:07.67 and in the 200 breaststroke in 2:30.06. Also winning events were Miriam McGeath in the 400 IM in 4:33.82 and Kristi Magee in the 100 free.

"Solid meet tonight, a lot of our swimmers swam off events," head coach David Sheets said. "I'm looking forward to tomorrow's A-10 contests."

The Dukes return to action on Saturday as they face St. Bonaventure and La Salle in Buffalo. The three teams will compete at 10:00 am and again at 3:30 pm.
