Lewisburg, Pa. - Duquesne's women's outdoor track and field team took a solid third place at the Bucknell "Five Way" on a cold and rainy Saturday at the Christy Mathewson - Memorial Stadium. Senior Kristen Micsky and sophomore Samantha Howard each won their events, helping the Red and Blue to a 78 point total.
This year's "Five Way" had six women's teams competing.
Micsky won the high jump with a leap of 1.55 meters (6 feet 1 inch) while Howard crossed the tape in the 1500 meter run at 4:40.53. Two other DU runners, senior Brianne Scott and sophomore Amy Ruffolo, finished the 1500 in the top six, giving the Dukes 16 points in this event.
Duquesne next heads to the prestigious Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa. The three-day competition begins on Thursday, April 27, 2006.
