Ksenia Gromova Named @DuqSwimDive Assistant Coach

PITTSBURGH – Duquesne swimming and diving head coach David Sheets recently announced the addition of Ksenia Gromova to the Dukes' staff as an assistant coach. Gromova brings several years of coaching experience to The Bluff, including the last two as head coach of the men's and women's programs at Lindenwood Belleville in Illinois.

"I am very excited to join the Duquesne Swimming and Diving staff," Gromova said. "I am honored to work with such an experienced coaching staff and such a strong team. I am determined to work hard and assist coach David Sheets in enhancing the team's performance."

At Lindenwood Belleville, she led both the Lynx men's and women's teams to two consecutive top-10 finishes at the NAIA Championships. The men's program finished fourth nationally in 2018 followed by a third-place mark this past season while the women posted back-to-back ninth-place showings at the national meet.

Under her guidance, the men's team also won a Mid-South Conference title in 2018.

Individually, her swimmers won four national championships in their respective events, earned 29 All-American honors, shattered six Mid-South Conference records and 17 school records.

For her performance, Gromova was the recipient of a Certificate of Excellence for Outstanding Coaching Achievements in 2018 from the American Swimming Coaches Association.

Prior to Lindenwood Belleville, she worked as a graduate assistant coach at Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. At UIW, she coached six Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) champions and an Olympic trial qualifier. In addition, 11 school records fell during her tenure.

Gromova worked as an assistant coach for the Open Water Swimming Junior National Team in Russia, mentoring swimmers who earned one World Cup Championship, a pair of European Championships and three Russian National Championships.

A native of Russia, she was a member of the swimming team at Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia, Ark. from 2009-13 where she garnered multiple All-American accolades with the Tigers.

Gromova earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology from OBU in 2013 and a Master of Science in Sports Management from UIW in 2017.
