@DuqWBB Alum in Coaching: Chrissy (Anderson) French

Former Duquesne guard Chrissy (Anderson) French completed her second season as head coach at Penn State Greater Allegheny in McKeesport, Pa.

A 1994 graduate, she was named Duquesne Female Student-Athlete of the Year her senior season. After earning her degree in education, French returned to her high school alma mater, McKeesport, serving as a teacher and assistant basketball coach for 5 ½ years. In 1999, she was elevated to head coach and led the team for the next 5 ½ years.

After coaching the Lady Tigers, she went the AAU route, starting her own club, PA Lil Ballers, for four years before joining Courttime Sports Center.

French returned to the WPIAL in the 2014-15 season as the head coach at Woodland Hills for two season before accepting the job at PSUGA.

The shortest player in Duquesne history at 4-9, French played in 75 games for the Dukes from 1991-94.
